What Every African American Woman Should Know About Black Skin Care

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Black skin care is a subject that many African American women want to know more about. Having spent years in the skin care industry, I have received many enquiries from African American women.
And these curious enquires are easily justifiable. African Americans have naturally darker skin that reacts differently when compared to fairer tones of skin. There are several advantages and disadvantages that come with having naturally dark skin.
Firstly, let’s examine some of the positive attributes of naturally dark skin. African American skin is dark due to a higher level of melanin in the skin. Melanin protects the skin from damage. This gives African American skin an inherently stronger defense against sun damage. Sun damage can accelerate or exacerbate signs of aging. Since African Americans have stronger protection against sun damage, they age more gracefully and are less likely to show severe signs of aging through the quality of their skin.
Unfortunately, people with naturally dark skin also have a unique set of challenges to deal with. Naturally dark skin is more likely to form long-lasting scars. This attribute becomes a nasty issue to content with, especially when skin becomes red or inflamed. So try to avoid any blemishes as they may leave a shadow that is difficult to get rid of.
African American skin also loses its elasticity easily. This problem becomes readily apparent when African Americans lose or gain weight suddenly. This can result in unsightly stretch marks that are difficult to remove.
Due to the unforgiving attributes of naturally dark skin, preventive care is of utmost importance. Should preventive care be neglected, the ensuing marks left on the skin will be difficult to remove.
To maintain African American skin, you should use skin care products that are highly nutritious for the skin. All skin requires several minerals and ingredients to keep it youthful and subtle. These nutritious ingredients include Cynergy TK, Nano-Lipobelle H EQ 10, phytessence wakame, natural vitamine E and active manuka honey.
These ingredients are premium skin care agents that offer a natural and effective form of skin care maintenance. Cynergy TK is a particularly exciting new ingredient that is being hailed as a miracle anti aging ingredient. On the other hand, phytessence wakame is produced from Japanese kelp, and already has a long and established history in helping Japanese women stay youthful and beautiful.
Xtendlife’s range of women’s skin care is particularly useful in maintaining and rejuvenating African American skin and is one of the best kept secrets in African American skin care. This range of skin care offers a carefully formulated mixture of the above mentioned ingredients. This specially designed range of products offers an unparalleled skin care experience that will keep you looking young and sexy.
African Americans are precariously placed in realm of black skin care. Even though they are more resistance to sun damage and generally show less signs of aging, any imperfections that do occur are hard to deal with. Therefore, African Americans should adopt preventive skin care as a safeguard against aging and skin imperfections.

Should You Buy Skin Care Equipment For Your Home?

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Stress, pollution and the adoption of unhealthy diets can cause an outbreak of acne on your skin. If this has happened to you, you may be wondering if you should buy skin care equipment for your home. If you aspire to have a wrinkle, spot and acne free skin, then you probably have enough motivation to consider purchasing skin care equipment.
Regular facial treatments are essential in maintaining a healthy skin complexion. Most people are either too busy studying or working to spare anytime to go for facial treatments at the beauty salon. If your skin is neglected for a prolonged periods of time, it will start to sag and become dull in appearance. Therefore, it is necessary to equip yourself with the essential equipment you will need to maintain the condition of your skin.
If you have skin care equipment at home, you will not need to waste time traveling to a beauty salon to receive skin treatments. This is important as most consumers are reluctant to travel to a beauty salon.. Purchasing a set of skin care equipment also allows you to perform skin care maintenance in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Skin care products are equally important when compared to skin care equipment. We are continually exposed to an environment that is bad for our skin. Skin care products provide you with the protection you need from these harmful environmental factors. Applying these products to your skin will give it a protective layer that shields you from bacteria that will cause skin problems.
The advantage of using skin care products is that it is much more convenient when compared to facial treatments conducted by beauty salons. It is also much cheaper when compared to most facial equipment and they are much easier to store. All you have to do is to apply these products after you cleanse your face, thus providing a fast and efficient skincare solution.
Some consumers believe that the more expensive a product is, the more effective it will be. However, not all expensive products will turn out to be as effective as perceived. These products might be expensive because of the amount of money spent by the company on marketing and advertising. Therefore, when choosing a skincare product, it is better to adopt an educated point of view and judge the product for its content rather than just its price. It is better to choose a product with 100% natural content, as this minimizes the possibility of skin irritation and infection due to harmful chemicals.
When choosing a skin care product, try to look out one that contains collagen and Phythessence wakame. These ingredients will help to maintain the firmness of your skin while giving you a better complexion.
So, should you buy skin care equipment for your home? To answer this question, you have to make a choice. Skin care equipment can help to maintain good and healthy skin but a better alternate choice will be skin care products that are well formulated with premium ingredients.

Some Common Myths About Skin Care Products

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The skin care industry is forever on its toes with new skin care products being launched by the day. There are ample websites over the internet that preaches the good and bad habits in skin care. The talk has spread so far and so wide that it has given way to certain myths and misconceptions over time.

Here are some of the common myths and misconceptions doing rounds of the skin care industry and the correct facts beneath them:

Myth 1: Using more Skin Care Products will guarantee quicker resultsNothing can be more wrong or misconceived than this statement. Skin care products are specially formulated to treat particular skin damages. They cure them and work faster than natural or home treatments. But that is not to suggest that applying too many of them will further fasten the healing process. In fact using too many skin care products will only work to damage your skin than anything else. The active ingredients with these products can react with one another and pose harmful side effects for your skin. Skin care products that contain vitamin c, retinol, and alpha-hydroxy acids help to smooth the skin. Likewise agents like salicylic acids and benzyl peroxide heal acne and blemishes. These ingredients when used in higher concentration tend to be reactive and thus pose as a threat to your skin. Always apply skin creams and other such products in small quantities and massage it lightly onto the skin.

Myth 2: Everyone needs Skin TonersNot really! Though it is always advised to follow a skin care regimen and make use of a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, the truth is you can beg to differ. Most people need to use toners and it is a healthy practice too but that doesn’t mean it is an absolute essential for everyone. Toners do the job of closing down open skin pores and ripping them of any internal debris. This process is instantly followed by the moisturizing of the skin. But in some cases, toners can strip off the skin’s natural oils and leave them dry. Therefore, it is not as essential as it is perceived.

Myth 3: you can get addicted to Lip Balms Lip balms and addiction have nothing in common. Some people claim that lip balms are often added with ingredients that dry out your lips so that you buy them again and again more frequently. This is however a tall tale. If at all a lip balm has drying effects on the skin, there is enough reason not to buy it the other time.

The addiction people talk about has got to do with the habit of licking lips regularly which creates a drying effect of the lips. Lip balms on the other hand contain moisturizing properties that keep the lips moist and smooth.

Myth 4: There is no need to buy separate Eye CreamsThe skin on your face varies. As compared to the other areas of your face, the skin around your eyes is more fragile and delicate. Therefore it requires special treatment and care. The regular face creams and lotions become a little too harsh for the delicate skin at the eye contours. Eye creams are exclusively formulated to nourish the thin and fragile skin around the eyes and provide them maximum comfort with as little stress as possible.

Cheap Skin Care Products. Could the Best be the Cheapest?

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Do you believe that cheap skin care products are poor quality skin care products? If so then keep reading, you might be surprised. Cheap skin care products can in fact be the best you can get.The anti-aging and skin care industry is a huge one, I’ve seen estimates of figures around $50 billion a year. So there’s a lot of money to be made in cosmetics and skin care products. And aren’t some of them expensive? The big brand name companies certainly don’t offer any cheap skin care products in their anti-aging ranges. Is it the case that the more you pay the better quality product you get or is it possible to pay less for your anti aging skin care and get better products?Lets have a look at some of the factors involved. I’m sure you’re familiar with the big brand name anti aging and skin care companies. You see their ads on the TV all the time, with big name celebrities promoting their products. You see their products on the shelves too, everywhere. Those are two factors that ensure that their products are in fact some of the most expensive anti-aging products available. The marketing, and the distribution methods.Because the saturation television marketing is extremely expensive, and those celebrities have to be paid big bucks too. All this goes on to the top of the product price as it all has to be paid for. Then of course they can afford to keep the price high, because they’re paying a lot for the marketing so everyone knows their name, so they can price their products higher because – everyone knows their name. And everyone assumed the products must be good because – everyone knows their name. And because those anti-aging skincare products are sold through well known department stores there is an extra layer of distribution costs involved, because all those retailers want their pound of flesh too.And then of course there’s the manufacturing costs. Many big name companies do not manufacture their own products, they contract their manufacturing out to other manufacturing companies who also need to make their profits as well.So all these add up to make sure that the big brand name products are very expensive, and of course the advertising supports all of this by trying to convince you that they need to be expensive as they are the best.Would it surprise you to know that the most expensive skin care and anti-aging products are not in fact the best? In fact some do very little at all and some even have ingredients in them that are suspect to your health or even dangerous. In a market like this it is very difficult for a small niche company to break into anti-aging skin care products and compete head to head with the big boys. It takes way too much money to do that.So one company at least, that makes what are probably the finest skin care anti-aging products on the planet, competes very differently. And when you buy their anti-aging products you get cheap skin care products that are far from cheap quality, and are in fact some of the finest skin care you can get. They manufacture their own products, which are put together entirely from natural ingredients, as customer safety is their highest priority. They don’t sell through retailers, to avoid the costs of extra margins on their products. And they price their products very competitively and back their products up with a 100% money back guarantee. They do this because they offer skin care products cheaper than the big name companies, because they know their anti-aging products are so good that once they have a customer they have one for life, so they make their profit over time. They do make cheap skin care products, but they are cheap in cost, not quality. In fact their products usually contain far more active ingredients than the ones you’re probably using now.And they don’t do any TV or media advertising, so there is no celebrity to pay, and no massive marketing budget. They let their products, and word of mouth, do the selling. It’s the only way to compete in a massive market with big players. Make sure you sell your skin care range cheaper than the big boys, make it the finest money can buy, make it safe and all natural and let your product quality do the talking. But you’ve never heard of them I’ll bet. Because they’ve never been on TV.

5 Most Effective Skin Care Ingredients Found in Men Skin Care Products

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Men skin care products are very much available in the market with a wide range to choose from. There are expensive natural skin care for men, and there are reasonably priced. Moreover, you should not limit yourself with the prices alone. Sometimes, even the expensive ones cannot really give all the answers to the issues involved.

The best way to pick the right men skin care product is to know the most effective skin care ingredients found in men skin care products. In this way, you will not have a hard time. Another important thing to remember is to know what your primary skin problem is. By that, you can distinguish which men skin care products and men skin care ingredients you really need. For example, if your problem is acne, you should look for a men skin care product that is specifically designed for acne treatment.

During adolescence, sebaceous glands start discharging huge quantities of sebum and carry on all the way through life. Diet and environment also play a major part of acne problem. What you eat and where you are tends to facilitate the cause of acne. Most of all, it is all in the genes. Genetic predisposition is the major reason.

You can treat acne by using a kind of skin cleansers, which removes skin cells or exfoliates, maintaining follicles open. Glycolic acids or peroxide is the main ingredient of over the counter men skin care products. It helps avoid clog formation. Furthermore, exfoliating the skin assists in peeling away dead skin cells. A number of non-prescription gels, lotions, creams, and other acne products, which help cleanse and exfoliate the skin, have two familiar ingredients:

Benzoyl peroxide. It wipes out bacteria, which can get into follicles and generate infection.      Salicylic acid. Another name for salicylic acid is glycolic acid, which helps unclog pores. It is recommended for everyday use for better results. While benzoyl sounds like a very chemical ingredient it does play an important role in natural skin care for men as it helps to achieve healthy skin that is free from harmful bacteria.

A dermatologist prescribes other treatment if these products do not help:

Antibiotics. It helps manage bacteria. You can take it orally or you can rub it onto your skin.     Vitamin A derivatives. It is also known as retinoid, which unclog pores, and helps maintain the pores free from dirt and bacteria.  When it comes to natural skin care for men there is nothing better than good old vitamins!

Anti-inflammatory medication. Known as corticosteroid, this can be injected directly into an inflamed pustule to control severe outbreaks.

There are also ingredients in natural skin care for men. These products contain only the natural ingredients that were proven effective.

Phytessence Wakame. An extract of kelp from the Japanese Sea is an antioxidant. This also prevents the collapse of hyaluronic acid in our skin. The elasticity of your skin will be restored with regular use. It also helps repair and calm irritated and dry skin.

Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10. This removes free radicals from the skin and has an anti-wrinkle effect because of its antioxidant property called coenzyme Q10, which penetrates through all the layers of the skin. Antioxidants are found in products used in natural skin care for men as well as in several fruits we should eat on a daily basis.

Kaolin. An extract of clay from the foothills of the New Zealand Alps pulls dirt gently and removes excess oil. It has disinfectant properties that heal imperfections and inflammation and at the same time, it prevents new blemishes to appear.  This ingredient is also found in quality products used in natural skin care for men.
